In August 1973, 17-year-old Elmer Wayne Henley was arrested for murder.

Over the previous two years, he'd acted as an accomplice to serial killer "Candy Man" Dean Corll, the man behind the Houston Mass Murders. Henley helped Corll rape and murder at least 28 victims, six of whom he killed himself — and eventually turned the gun on Corll. In fact, Henley was only caught because he called the police after fatally shooting Corll and turned himself in, admitting to everything. Despite his confession, Corll was convicted of murder and sentenced to six terms of life in prison.
