Today in 1982, HMS HERMES along with her escorts of HMS ANTRIM, ACTIVE, BROADSWORD, EXETER & YARMOUTH and the RFA tankers TIDESPRING & TIDEPOOL depart the Task Force and turn north and run for home waters. The trip back once reaching warmer climates will consist of sunbathing and easy routines to keep the ship running.  HMS INVINCIBLE has returned to the fleet after a turbine replacement conducted whilst at sea, quite the engineering task and normally completed alongside. INVINCIBLE and the remaining ships will continue probably air cover to the Falklands and remain at action stations as Argentina has yet to confirm the end of hostilities. INVINCIBLE will eventually be relieved by the brand new HMS ILLUSTRIOUS which is currently on route to the South Atlantic.
