SPANISH DONKEY OR WOODEN HORSE This torture method was invented by the Spanish Inquisition in medieval times to punish those guilty of heresy or witchcraft. In this torture a person was forced to straddle the Spanish Horse, ropes would pull the legs down until the genitals were rubbed raw. Since the first appearance of the device it has been modified and enhanced, to include features both technical and aesthetic to enhance the torment. Its essence remained the same, the sharp corner of a triangle shaped seat upon which the victim was split upon.
