 REPUBLIC OF KOREA NAVY TRAINING GROUP 2023 HONORS TWO PEFTOK VETERANS aboard the Helicopter Training Ship ROKS HANSANDO.







At around 1900H, Pier 15 Manila, two veterans of the Philippine Expeditionary Force to Korea (PEFTOK) were honored by the Republic of Korea Navy on board one of the two ships of the Task Group.


The two Veterans namely VET RUBEN AQUINO of the 19th BCT and VET RODRIGO ERENO of the 14th BCT were given a Thank you Plaque and accolades by the Head of the Task Group RDML Choong-Ho, Cho.


Other highlights of the activity were the speech of the Flag Officer in Command of the Philippine Navy VADM TORIBIO D ADACI JR PN represented by COMMO SOCRATES DAZA PN, Commander SEALIFT AMPHIBIOUS FORCE, PN who is also the son of a PEFTOKER from the 14th BCT, the late SGT MAJ RODOLFO DAZA.


A sumptuous dinner was served and guests were entertained by several performances from the crew itself such as Taekwando, Drum Musical, Magic Performance and both K-POP and Classic Songs such as Arirang.


The PVAI group was led by its President, Ms Jovena A Damasen; VP Andylowi Bumatay and Treasurer Ms Imelda Mamerto.


Representatives from each BCT were alos present for the 10th BCT: Ms Beng Flores. For the 20th BCT were Mr Elmer Villanueva respresenting his Father VET RICARDO VILLANUEVA, Mr Bong Aguilar and Ms Malou Cuerdo.


The 19th BCT group is composed of Mr Danny Bantilan; Mrs Diosdada Aquino, wife of VET AQUINO, their Son Mr Ruben Aquino Jr.


From the 14th BCT were Ms Tet Marquez; Ms Evelyn Guzman and the Daughters of VET ERENIO Ms Rina Ereno and Ms Rodelia Ereno


and lastly the 2nd BCT is comprised of Ms Kimthai Reola; Ms Cinderella Tabones, Mr Larry Sagun, Ms Jenny Panganiban and Ms Nayobie Cervano.


Also present during the activity were our partners from the United Korean Community Association (UKCA) Mr Lee, Jong-Sub, President of the Philippine Department of Korean War Veterans. His Excellency Ambassador Lee, Sang-Hwa was represented by the Consul General of the ROK Embassy.


The PVAO-PKFC was represented by the PKFC Senior Shrine Curator and PKFC Accounts Officer, Ms Arriane D Gomez

Terrible torture museum.

 Terrible  torture museum. I had the pleasure of visiting Prague this weekend, and walking past the "Torture Museum" instantly grabbed my attention.  For all my adult life I've had a huge interest in history, but the macabre side of history has always fascinated me. Which I guess bleeds over into the psychology of how and why people can do what they do to each other. Prague torture museum (although pretty small) is certainly fascinating, filled with information and examples of the ways people have inflicted pain on one another. Sometimes the pain is self inflicted in order to prevent greater harm from others.  The chastity belt is a prime example of this. Most people, including myself, think the chastity belt was forced upon women by their husbands to ensure they were faithful whilst the husband was away crusading. Whilst this is possible, wearing one for more than a couple of days would cause severe infections from the metal abrasions, along with the inability to wash. I
