Contrary to popular belief, recent research and archaeological findings suggest that the Garamantes were of African descent, specifically black Africans. This revelation challenges the traditional Eurocentric views of ancient Europe and sheds light on the diversity and complexity of the continent's history.


The "black Africans" that most likely been in the Roman Empire would have been the Garamantes

Rape is also used as a method to extract confessions from prisoners. Amnesty International found that rape is “routinely” used to force women confess to crimes in Mexican prisons. Prisons in Iran have also been accused of beating and raping their female prisoners, and terrorist organizations like ISIS use rape as a means of torturing women. Rape is perhaps the oldest and most enduring method of female torture that exists.

Larcena Pennington Page (January 10, 1837 – March 31, 1913), born Larcena Ann Pennington, was an American pioneer known for surviving a kidnapping by Apache as a young married woman of 23 years old in present-day Arizona. Left for dead and unable to stand, she crawled 15 miles (24 km) over the next sixteen days to reach safety. After her kidnapping, Larcena was indirectly involved in several other incidents with Apache.
