He deployed to France on 22nd June 1915.

He served with 1st Battalion, Somerset Light Infantry.

He was killed in action at of Boezinge, near Ypres in Belgium on 6th July 1915.

He is buried in Talana Farm Cemetery.

He left behind a young wife and a one month old son.
