Did North America discover Europe?

Did North America discover Europe?

In 1720 an Inuit man paddling a Kayak landed on a beech near Aberdeen Scotland. The city of Aberdeen is on the East Coast, so the man must have been following the coast line around the North of Scotland. Sadly the man died just a few days later.
His Kayak and equipment can still be seen in the local museum. The photograph is from the 1930s but illustrates the traditional Kayak.
So If he could make it, maybe others had made the journey before!
